Your donation covers the cost of Home Water System (HWS) parts, including 1200 gallon water cistern, pump, sink, water heater, solar panel, battery array, LED lights, charging ports, plumbing, and drain.
The full cost of installing and maintaining the system, including local overhead and staffing costs for the Navajo Water Project is $14,000 per system. When you sponsor a system, we blend your equipment donation with other support to cover the full cost of an installation.
We charge the full $14,000 to institutional funders (like foundations and corporations) who sponsor an HWS.

We’re currently fundraising for system installs in 2024. This year, our team will more than triple their annual outreach, installing 300 systems across Navajo Nation. We’re scaling quickly in an effort to catch-up on installation delays caused by Covid-19, when it wasn’t safe for our crews to enter homes.
Thousands of Navajo families need running water. Every new system sponsorship means we’re able to add an additional family to our list.
